In the Department of Emergency Cardiology, high-quality specialized medical care is provided to patients with heart diseases. The department consists of an intensive care unit (ICU), a semi-intensive unit (second stage) and wards. Close cooperation with specialists from other departments makes it possible to restore arterial patency in the first hours of myocardial infarction and prevent the development of myocardial infarction. This contributes to a significant reduction in the percentage of disability in patients. The main task of the Department of Emergency Cardiology is the treatment of acute myocardial infarction and acute coronary syndrome. The intensive care unit (ICU) receives patients with acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina, acute cardiac arrhythmias, acute heart failure and other life-threatening cardiovascular pathologies. The department also treats patients with chronic forms of coronary heart disease (CHD), arterial hypertension, chronic heart failure, myocardial and pericardial diseases, endocarditis, and other heart problems. Every year, the department treats more than 3,000 patients receiving inpatient care (1000-1100 of whom are with acute myocardial infarction) and about 6,000 patients receiving outpatient care. The department is equipped with all the necessary modern equipment. invasive and non-invasive monitors, electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, treadmill, Holter monitors are available. The department employs highly qualified cardiologists-resuscitators specializing in leading foreign clinics. Treatment is carried out in accordance with international standards in accordance with the recommendations of the European Association of Cardiologists. The department is the clinical base of the Department of Cardiology of YSMU. Every year 10-15 doctors undergo clinical residency in the department. Scientific research is being conducted, the results of which are published in scientific cardiological publications in the USA, Europe, Russia.
