The world's leading neurologists are in Yerevan to discuss the prevention and treatment of stroke.
For the third time, MC Erebouni, the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, and the Armenian Stroke Council are organizing a Spring Stroke School. This time it is held with the support of the European Stroke Organization.
The two-day conference is attended by well-known experts from Russia, Georgia, Europe, Israel, Canada, the USA and Australia.
World-famous neurologists of Armenian origin, who are at the origins of the creation of the state program for the treatment of acute stroke in Armenia, have also arrived in Armenia to participate in the event. The world-famous neurologist of Armenian origin, associate professor of the University of Alberta Dr. Mikael Skon, summing up the results of the program, is confident that the indicators of stroke treatment in Armenia are comparable with those of European countries.
The conference is attended by neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists,physicians and rehabilitologists of various medical institutions of Armenia. Foreign doctors present them with current problems of diagnosis and treatment of stroke, the latest approaches of leading countries.
As a result of cooperation with foreign partners, the most important plans for the future are already being outlined. Soon, as a result of international experience, our country will also receive a patient base, providing new opportunities for specialists.
In addition to such scientific conferences with educational purposes, the training of highly specialized professionals involved in the treatment of stroke is already valid in our country.
The next important step is to expand the geography of the project. The pioneer of the program, which started in 2019, was MC Erebouni , taking over the lion's share of the treatment of stroke patients.Now the program is expanding, one regional medical center in Gyumri will be followed by stroke centers in the south and north of the country.
