Screening tests in pregnancy. When should a pregnant woman undergo a screening examination? Screenings during pregnancy are presented by the head of the Center for Women's Reproductive Health of the Maternity Clinic of MC Erebouni Dr. Anahit Stepanyan. Screening is a complex of exams that allows you to assess the health of an unborn child. The first screening is carried out at 11-13 weeks of pregnancy and includes ultrasound and biochemical blood tests. Thus, it is possible to assess the risks of chromosomal disorders of the fetus, as well as major anomalies of organ systems. The second screening test is carried out within 18-22 weeks of pregnancy.
