More than 680 patients with acute ischemic stroke received treatment in MC Erebouni for 2 years. The state -funded Stroke Program was launched in February 1, 2019.From the very first day, MC Erebouni became a leader in the implementation of the program. The Stroke Center has been reorganized, which includes two teams-the neurological team led by the head of the Neurological Department Dr. Nune Yeghiazaryan and the neurosurgical team led by the head of the Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery Service Dr. David Sahakyan.As a result of 24/ 7 work, 350 thrombectomies (endovascular surgical removal of a blood clot) were performed, and 330 patients have been successfully treated with intravenous thrombolysis (intravenous alteplase). It should be noted that these successes are also due to the fact that these interventions in MC Erebouni started in 2014, as a result of which important experience was gained even before the implementation of the state-funded program. Thus, MC Erebouni is the leader in the region in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke.
