Stroke Treatment Issues Return to the Forefront
The Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the National Institute of Health of the RA Ministry of Health, in collaboration with Erebuni Medical Center and the Armenian Stroke Association, and under the auspices of the European Stroke Association (ESO), has once again organized the Fourth Annual Spring School of Stroke.
This year's focus was on hemorrhagic stroke, addressing the latest issues in both diagnosis and treatment. The Spring School saw participation from dozens of doctors across the country’s leading medical centers, including neurologists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, cardiologists, and radiologists. Neurologists shared the latest approaches to diagnosing and treating hemorrhagic strokes from leading countries with their colleagues.
Nune Yeghiazaryan, head of the neurology department at Erebuni Medical Center, presented their successful experiences in treating paralysis and complicated cases.
The event concluded with discussions on future collaboration between the National Institute of Health, the Armenian Stroke Association, and the European Stroke Association, outlining upcoming tasks and goals.
The symbolic location of this year's Spring School was the village of Dsegh in Lori Marz. The Lori region is also part of the state program for stroke treatment, ensuring that stroke patients receive quality care at the Vanadzor Medical Center without needing to travel to Yerevan.
It is worth noting that the state program for stroke treatment has been operational at Erebuni Medical Center since February 1, 2019.
