The Armenian International Emergency and Disaster Medicine Training Center has opened in Erebouni Medical Center. Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan was also present at the opening ceremony.
This center is the result of the collaboration of doctors from the Harvard Medical Faculty, Erebouni Medical Center, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the International Committee of the Red Cross. During the ceremony, the guests toured a modern training center equipped with the necessary materials, imitation mannequins, and equipment. Highly qualified specialists who have already been trained in various US centers and have received the right to teach under international programs will teach here.
This is the most important cooperation. Purpose: to train qualified specialists who will provide quick and effective medical assistance in natural disasters or emergencies.
At the end of the ceremony, the founder of Erebouni MC Harutyun Kushkyan and the director of the Department of Disaster Medicine Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center , Professor of Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical University, former President of the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine Dr. Greg Ciottone signed a memorandum of cooperation, laying the foundation for further educational programs on emergencies. The eldest grandson of Harutyun Kushkyan, the younger Artem, has already decided on the choice of profession. He will become a doctor like his grandfather and father.
The medical staff of MC Erebоuni will be the first to be trained at the center.
