Ministry of Health, together with the National Institute of Health named after academician Suren Avdalbekyan, MC Erebouni and the “Somnus” Neurological Clinic organized a two-day conference, which was also attended by the famous Canadian neurologist of Armenian origin Mikael Skon Muratoglu (Muradyan). Specialists of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery NIH presented their colleagues the latest protocols for the treatment of primary and secondary types of headache.
Mikael Skon, Professor of the Department of Neurology of the University of Alberta, was awarded the title of Professor of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery by the National Institute of the Ministry of Health of the RA. The professor presented the department lot of modern literature on neurology. Samson Khachatryan, Head of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the NIH MH, noted that such discussions are serious educational events for neurologists, and today the goal is to achieve significant results in this area of healthcare.
Professor Skon noted that cooperation with MC Erebouni dates back to 2011, and as a result of this cooperation, numerous programs have been implemented. Now the professor begins cooperation with the Department of Neurology NIH MH RA. It will put on a different, better level, cooperation with a famous professor- at the State level.
Dr. Mikael Skon also met with the founder of MC Erebouni - Professor Harutyun Kushkyan. Summing up the implementation of programs over the past year, Professor Skon highly appreciated the readiness of MC Erebouni in the development of neurology and neurosurgery, and proposed, along with clinical activities, to deepen cooperation at the educational level.
The professor also expressed satisfaction with the State program for the treatment of stroke in MC Erebouni, noting that he himself did not expect such positive results on it. He noted that thanks to the correct policy of the Ministry of Health, the capabilities of the Stroke Centers and the high professionalism of doctors, today we can say that the program took place in Armenia.
