The first participants of the international courses of the International training center for Emergency and Disaster medicine of Armenia received their certificates. This center is the result of cooperation between doctors of Erebоuni MC, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, doctors from Harvard Medical School and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The first course was attended by more than 20 doctors and nurses from 13 border medical institutions, who within 10 days acquired basic knowledge of first aid in emergency situations.
Within 10 days they took part in 4 courses: "Basic Life Support" of the American Heart Association, "Advanced Pediatric Life Support", "Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support" and "Prehospital Care" of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. The participants received accredited certificates from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians and the American Heart Association.
During the training, medical workers not only learned what life-saving measures are needed in emergency situations, but also how to navigate and use the resources of the community or witnesses to overcome critical situations.
The purpose of the International training center for Emergency and Disaster medicine of Armenia is to train qualified specialists who will provide quick and effective medical assistance in natural disasters or emergencies.
