Department of Computed Tomography of Erebouni Medical Centre has been equipped with the newest generation of computed tomography. The preferences and capacities of this equipment were presented by the Head of the Department of Computed Tomography of Erebouni Medical Centre Lusine Hakobyan.
"Computed tomography takes a special place among other diagnostic methods. This method is developing rapidly. From year to year the CT equipment are improving and has additional options that increase the effectiveness of this method. Since the Medical Center "Erebouni" is a multi profile, here are examined patients with various diseases. So, to provide high-quality service, the Center is constantly in need of introduction of new technologies and advanced methodologies.
Currently we have CT scanner of the new generation from Siemens, which will greatly facilitate the work of doctors in setting a more precise diagnosis. We also have the opportunity to conduct patient examination with intravenous contrast injection, which also guarantees an accurate result.
On this CT scanner we conduct a study of cerebral vessels, brain, neck and neck vessels, bones, blood vessels and organs of the chest, abdomen, pelvis. With this equipment it is possible to provide the accurate diagnosis of cancer. It gives the opportunity to properly assess the severity and prevalence of the disease. Since CT study are also carried out in case of severe and acute patients it is necessary to have possibilities to timely and fast organize the study of these patients, which may serve their life. Moreover, the time of CT scanning became shorter with this new generation, which provides service for more patients in same unit of time. Very important is also the fact of much lower radiation dose with this new equipment"
